Nathaniel Bassey is a popular Nigerian Gospel music singer, pastor, trumpeter, minister and stage performer. He is known for his hit Gospel worship songs which includes Imela, Onise Iyanu, Olowogbogboro, book of Life and more. He is also a member and pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG).

Nathaniel Bassey is one of the current leading Nigerian Gospel ministers, He has collaborated with fellow Gospel artistes in the Nigerian and international Gospel music scene.

Early Life And Education

Nathaniel Bassey was born on the 28th of August, 1978, in Lagos State Western Nigeria. He hails primarily from Ikot Ofon Ikono, Uyo Local Government Area in Akwa-Ibom state south southern Nigeria.

Nathaniel Bassey father, Mr E Joshua was also a minister at the Apostolic Church Bashua Assembly. We can say the son (Nathaniel), followed his dad’s ministration foot steps.

Nathaniel Bassey’s had his primary and secondary School education in Lagos.

He had his tertiary institution education at the University Of Lagos (UNILAG) where he studied Urban and Regional Planning. He later got an admission to study Politics and International Relations in London. He also studied music at the Middlesex University Summer School in UK.

Nathaniel Bassey Music Career

Nathaniel Bassey, started out as a Jazzman (Trumpeter), playing for different groups or Gospel concerts. He became a popular Trumpeter and that led to him becoming a Gospel musician.

Nathaniel Bassey joined Spectrum 4, a top Jazz Quartet in Lagos. He rose to prominence as a Jazzman (Tumpeter) when he got an invitation from Elder Steve Rhodes to lead an Orchestra known as The Steve Rhodes Orchestra, He later got into music and released several Albums and Hit Soul Uplifting Gospel songs like Book of life, Imela, Onise Iyanu, Olowogbogboro and lots more.

He has collaborated with top Gospel ministers like Tope Alabi, Sinach, Micah Stampley, Chandler Moore and lots more.
