Diogo Jota: Messi, Mane, Mbappe, others pay last respect to late Liverpool forward


Some football stars have taken to their social media pages to pay their last respects to Liverpool forward Diogo Jota, who passed away on Thursday.

Recall that Jota and his brother Andre sadly died in a car accident in the early hours of Thursday in Spain.

Liverpool midfielder, Mac Allister wrote on Instagram: “I can’t believe it. I will always remember your smiles, your anger, your intelligence, your companionship, and everything that made you as a person. It hurts a lot, we are going to miss you.

“Rest in peace, dear Diogo.”

On his part, Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi wrote on his Instagram story: “Rest in peace,” alongside a picture of Jota.

Similarly, Real Madrid’s Vinicius wrote on Instagram: “Rest in peace Diogo and your brother André Silva. Much strength to the whole family!!”

Also, former Liverpool forward, Sadio Mané, posted a Rest in peace emoji and a sad face emoji.

On his part, Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappe wrote on Instagram: “Deepest condolences, support and thoughts are with those involved, their family and loved ones. Rest in peace Diogo and Andre.”

Similarly, Liverpool forward, Darwin Nunez also wrote, “There are no words of comfort for so such pain. I will always remember you for your smile, as a food companion on and off the pitch.”
